Product Description The Sony KV-27V66 is a super TV on its own. But once you start plugging your DVD, satellite system, laserdisc player and more into the S-Video slot, the system gets even better. The Digital Comb Filter ensures maximum picture detail and resolution. Freeze Memo lets you freeze what's on screen and view it in PIP window, while programming continues on the main screen. Speed Surf allows for quick scanning of channels at the touch of a button. And the DAC Speaker System provides resonant bass, clear midrange and separate tweeters designed to balance out the sound. Plug into Sony and see how good TV can really be.
Amazon.com Product Description This TV features Sony's acclaimed Trinitron picture tube, which is based on a cylindrical model that contains a flat screen face. Because the screen is flat from top to bottom, vertical lines remain straight and distortion is minimized. The Trinitron tube also significantly reduces glare by reflecting light toward the floor, rather than directly into the viewer's eyes where it can make the picture appear washed out.

Very Good but not perfect December 9, 2001 James Houser (Texas, US) I purchased this TV at an electronics store in Texas, and have enjoyed it. The quality of the picture is good, but could be better. The menu is not very good. It has favorites which lets you go directly to a Station by clicking on favorites. I never use this option. The speakers are very skinny on the side, but they are great. The remote is like a lot of other sony products. I like it. One other problem with it is that when you type in a channel, it taked too long for it to go to it. (Like 3 seconds) Other than those things, it's a great Television.
Owned for Over Half a Year with No Problems July 12, 2000 Chuck (Texas) ...I did a lot of comparison shopping before buying. So here is my opinion of this TV.The picture and sound are great. I've never had a problem with either. The remote is lightweight and easy to use. This TV has plenty of inputs and outputs including front A/V inputs. The screen is fairly flat compared to other 27 inch televisions. The favorite channel feature is really nice as is the picture-in-picture. Before buying this TV, I spent a lot of time looking at specifications and reading reviews. Here is a little advice from my research. 1. Don't confuse this model with the KV-27S66. The KV-27S66 has only 5W/channel where the KV-27V66 has 10W/channel. That's one reason I went with this model. I didn't want my speakers to rattle (and they haven't). 2. On Sony's website, they indicate in the specifications that there is a front S-Video input, then later say there isn't. Which is right? There is no front S-Video input. 3. Don't be fooled by some of the advertised bells and whistles. For example, freeze memo and speed surf don't work the way they are advertised. That doesn't matter to me, but I thought you might like to know. 4. Because this television is so heavy and can't be shipped through normal UPS, shipping can take a long time, especially if you don't live in a big city.... There are a lot of other 27 inch televisions on the market for a lot less money, but I was willing to pay the extra money for the Sony name and all the other little bonuses like multiple inputs/outputs, 2 tuner PIP, and quality speakers. If you are looking for a quality television set and are willing to pay $500-600, then I would definitely recommend the Sony KV-27V66.

I purchased this TV 6+ mos ago and I'm very happy. It has a great picture! Although, I purchased the 3yr extended in-home warranty just in case. (The thing weighs about 90+lbs) There is a slight rattle in the speakers, but by simply reducing the bass it almost goes away. I plan to build an entertainment center around it, so I will be turning off the on-board speakers... There's more than one way to skin a cat! All-in-all, IMO it was certainly worth the $ including extended in-home warranty.
Doesn't live up to expectations March 15, 2000 10 out of 12 found this review helpful
I also have serious clor distortion in the upper left and lower left hand corner of the screen, plus I feel that the sound is extremely limiting for the outrageous price. Select a different set.
IS THIS TV WORTH THE PRICE? March 8, 2000 7 out of 10 found this review helpful
THIS TV COST ME $549 US DOLLARS IT HAS TO MANY PROBLEMS THE SOUND IS NOT THAT GREAT & WHEN YOU WATCH A DVD MOVIE THE PIC HAS A TILT TO THE LEFT YOU WILL NOTICE THIS AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST A PINKISH GREENISH PEACE IS ON THE TOP LEFT OF THE SCREEN THIS TV COST TO MUCH AND IS NOT THAT GREAT!
